Hi! I'm Tanya Wright, running for Denton ISD School board, Place 3. I'm a parent in the Braswell zone with students at all 3 campus levels. I’ve been here with my husband, Josh, and 3 kids for almost 6 years.
Educationally, I have a Masters in Child Development with Teaching Certificates in EC-6, SpEd, and ESL. Professionally, I’m a VP, Operations for a mortgage company where I specialize in process optimization, hypergrowth, and building to scale. I never strayed too far away from my passion in education, serving 8 years on various PTA boards, at multiple campuses at a time, including Council leadership. I’ve held the positions of President, Treasurer, VP, Programs, VP Advocacy, and more. I have served on several district committees, including the district Bond Committee, Legislative Watch Committee, 1925 Committee, Student Health Advisory Committee(SHAC), as well as Campus Leadership Team(CLT), to name a few.
I advocate for all students and have been a voice at every level, from campus level improvements, to personally addressing our state and national representatives on high priority items both digitally and in person.
I will bring a unique parents perspective to the board that can help navigate the current issues impacting our schools today. Maintaining quality education and supporting our teachers with a funding deficit is a top priority of mine. As a longtime district volunteer, I am passionate about strengthening the sense of community within our district as well as a sense of security for our students and staff on campus.
